System Administrator Level 3

Job Description

The successful applicant will join ESG’s IT Department. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the IT infrastructure in a heterogeneous environment with a primary focus on Windows Server systems. This includes but is not limited to, storage, networking, and servers. It also consists of the various software elements around operating systems and application layer components. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure including, Veeam Backup, Windows Server, Exchange, Office 365, File servers, Storage (SAN, NAS), Switches, and Virtualization
  • Provide L2/L3 support for the helpdesk staff
  • Perform Windows Server administration tasks, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS, group policies, event logs and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor IT infrastructure using pre-existing management tools and respond to incidents as they arise
  • Deploy, monitor and maintain both physical and virtual servers
  • Support hybrid Exchange environment (On-prem and Office 365)
  • Monitor and manage backup/restore system 
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software
  • Create and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and equipment inventory for all systems
  • Participate in multiple technologies and business projects
  • Work overtime when need to support 24/7 IT operation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience with mid to large size server daily operations, including maintenance, migrations, and upgrades
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Servers 20xx (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS)
  • Experience with Hyper-V environment
  • Proficient in networking (Routing, Switching, TCP/IP)
  • General knowledge of Storage technologies (i.e. SAN, NFS, iSCSI)
  • Experience with MS Exchange (on-prem and online)
  • Experience in Office365
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience in network monitoring systems 
  • General knowledge of Backup and Restore 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • MCSA, CCNA certificates or equivalent experience

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills:

  • Linux – install and configure
  • Experience with public Cloud
  • KACE System management 
  • Sharepoint administration
  • Experience with Veeam Backup
