Seismic Systems Specialist(based in LatAm)-Mining


The Seismic Systems Specialist is accountable for assisting the commercial sales team in a technical advisory capacity, maintaining current and future seismic systems in mines and geotechnical locations in the LatAm market. The role will also work closely with other technical teams (support, data processing) to maintain and improve client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a background in underground mining, seismology/geophysics, and be adept at geophysical instrumentation and software.

This individual will be required to:
  • Conduct technical sales visits and participate in client presentations.
  • Support sales efforts as necessary including back up of key accounts in the region.
  • Assist with the design of microseismic arrays and perform optimization of seismic systems following the installation of new systems or system upgrades.
  • Educate clients on the ESG software suite, support, and data analysis services.
  • Work closely with ESG technical support, data processing and interpretation teams globally.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships by providing an excellent level of technical support and customer service.
This individual will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring that all ESG seismic systems in the region are functioning in compliance with minimum requirements to achieve design monitoring objectives.
  • Representing the technical brand of ESG in the market.
  • Being the first point of local contact for any technical issues.
  • Client satisfaction and retention.
  • Promote ESG services including software upgrades and system support and assist with direct sales and building revenue for services.
  • Familiar with data acquisition systems (seismic monitoring systems would be a distinct advantage).
  • Willing and able to travel to mine sites in the regions assigned.
  • Familiar with geophysics and (underground) mining operations and has at least an acquaintance with seismology.
  • Fieldwork experience is an asset, particularly relevant to mining and geotechnical industries will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with different software is an asset.
  • Willing to work nonstandard hours.
  • Able to give technical presentations.
  • Able to communicate with clients, sometimes under stressful conditions.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Has commercial acumen.
  • Spanish speaking is essential, English speaking is an asset.
