Technical Sales Lead-Midland, USA

About the job

You will act as an ESG technical ambassador, providing sales and technical sales support for ESG’s fracture monitoring service line.  You will support the sales and business development team and our clients by helping to spread the word about our innovative technical solutions.   

You will:

  • Work with new and existing clients to help them extract maximum value from our technical products and services;
  • Assist the sales and business development teams by developing and qualifying new business/client leads;
  • Develop and deepen relationships with existing clients by understanding their needs across multiple departments and in conjunction with product management, develop consultative strategies to create extra value;
  • Become very close friends with our CRM system and visit it every day, even if it occasionally annoys you;
  • Support your colleagues and work with them to build something great;
  • Work with our technical specialists and product marketing teams to develop technical sales materials, case studies and other materials to help the world know our success stories;
  • Deliver technical presentations in client offices;
  • Participate in local technical society (i.e. SEG, SPE, URTeC) luncheons and events; 
  • Assist the sales and business development team with preparing and delivering quotations and proposals;
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and metrics;
  • Be a positive contributor, uphold ESG’s values and have some fun.

About you

  • For 5+ years you’ve had a deep technical relationship with geophysical/microseismic technologies.  Even if you took a break, you’re still on very good terms;
  • You have a university or college degree in a technical (geoscience/engineering) discipline; 
  • You’ve got an affinity for sales and marketing;
  • You’re a comfortable presenter and can describe technical concepts to a wide variety of audiences;
  • You geek out on geoscience technologies and lie awake at night thinking of how to help our clients maximize EUR and ROI;
  • Insightful questions, building trust, value creation and a win-win mindset come as naturally to you as riding a bike (assuming you can ride a bike);
  • Ethics, integrity and professionalism are your core values, you know how to play nicely with others and you’re cool as ice in the face of pressure;
  • Intuition is nice, but you prefer to base your decisions on data and facts;    
  • A reasonable amount of travel excites you.  So do networking opportunities and participation in conferences and events;    
  • If you don’t know the answer, then you’ll figure it out;
  • Verbal and written communication comes naturally to you.  You find it comforting to capture your ideas in written reports.
