Wireline Specialist-Temporary contract(3 months)

The successful applicant will join ESG’s Wireline Acquisition Services Team in Houston on a casual part time basis. The Wireline Specialist will be responsible for supervising personnel, project and site logistics and wireline operations for frac & ISM monitoring services for ESG Solutions. This individual will be required to have strong leadership skills, experience in building field client relationships, along with excellent analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills.

Duties and responsibilities

  • On-site management of the operations of all site specific equipment. 
  • Ensure Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and practices are adhered to and uphold the Code of Business Ethics
  • Conduct on site safety meetings to company and client expectations 
  • Set up recording system(s) for data acquisition (surface and downhole)
  • Acquire/record downhole data 
  • Maintain and repair downhole units and recording system, including fiber optic termination, computer networking and data storage devices 
  • Identify & mitigate risks in projects
  • Coordinate directly with ESG operations group
  • On site customer interface with the customer’s field supervisor  
  • Mentor and train less experienced Wireline Specialists
  • Ability to work long hours in harsh conditions
  • Travel requirements for this position are high
  • Strict adherence to all ESG HSE requirements at all times, for self and team
  • Ensure strict adherence to all OSHA guidelines at all times, for self and team

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with Microseismic and Geospace equipment.
  • Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of wireline experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical diplomas in electronics and communications, mechanics or petroleum engineering considered an asset. 
  • Fibre optic experience an asset.
  • Trained and certified on: OSHA, Basic +, Crane Awareness / operation, First Aid, H2S, HAZWOPER.
  • Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in the use of computers including MS Excel.
  • AZ license considered an asset.
  • Legal to work in the United States.
  • Able to work and travel in the United States, Canada and internationally.
